Parent Teacher Conferences
Today Aleece and I had our very first parent/teacher conferences for Leif. We went and met with his current teacher and also his next teacher. Leif gets to transfer classes soon because he is not 3.
Today’s meet was mostly a formality and to introduce us to his new teacher. Leif has not been in school very long so there is not much of a progress report. We did get an un-official report though. Leif is doing well. He is starting to say more, not a whole lot but some. He is really taking to the structure of the classroom well, he will move from activity to activity. Even though Leif does not have very many new words he is continuing to be able to illustrate what he wants non-verbally. Leif is also demonstrating a better understanding of directions. Leif’s teacher also said that Leif is a very easy going kid and a lot of fun to have in class.
Aleece and I have noticed an improvement in Leif since he has been in school. He can pick up on sign language very quick and does not need as much prompting to repeat it back at appropriate times. Leif even broke into song the other day and serenade Aleece.
