Last night I had my first production deploy for work. Pretty much consisted of me sitting on the phone for 3 hours listening to a guy from another department install my departments applications. Then I watch my test probe dashboard and made sure all of the red error indicators turned to green. The deploy started at 7:00pm so I was not able to tuck Leif into bed. When the deploy was finished I headed upstairs and suck into Leif’s room to give him a good night kiss. (At this point I would like to point out that Leif loves blankets. He has 2 that are his favorites but he does not have to have them 100% of the time, he just prefers them. Leif then has about 3 other blankets that he really likes, but not as much as the first 2. We try to keep all extra blankets of his folded and tucked under his bed. For the last couple of weeks Leif has been pulling ALL of his blankets out from under the bed and hauling them into bed with him. We finally gave up and let him just keep all of them out. We call it Leif’s “nest” as he likes to burrow into the middle of them. So, back to last night.) I went upstairs to check on Leif and found him in the middle of his floor. He had takes his nest off the bed and placed it in the middle of the floor. I guess he wanted to have a little “camp out” last night.
Kalven has been starting to sleep a little longer each night now. He usually sleeps through until 2:00ish to 3:00ish, yep that’s am. So the other night he was stirring, not really crying but he was awake and wanted something to eat. I got up with him and notice that he seemed in a pretty good mood so I talked and played with him for a few min. before settling in to the feeding. I take him downstairs to feed so that I do not disturb Aleece. At these times in the morning Kalven usually just eats and goes right back to sleep and I watch whatever is on TV, this night was no different. When Kalven fell asleep I was just about done with some interesting show on the History channel so I stayed a little longer to finish it up. As I was watching the end of the show I noticed a strange sound coming from Kalven, he was giggling. Full on actual giggling with that cute little kid laughter sound. Now he has smiled and cooed and talked up a storm while awake but I have so far only ever heard him giggle while he is asleep. In fact that’s one indicator I am using right now to tell if he is totally out. Infant laughter is such a cool sound to hear, makes late night/early morning feedings so much easier.
